Power Planning is Simple

  • So you heard that power planning hard?
  • It’s not and doesn’t have to be.


  • Decide what it is you want to do?
  • Come up with short term goals and a long term goals.
  • Short term goals are goals you can complete within 1-2 years.
  • Long term goals are goals you can complete within 3-5 or more years.
  • Write down three short term goals.
  • Write down five long term goals.


  • Focus on your short term goals.
  • You will need to evaluate your current situation. 
  • What is it that you are doing now to achieve your short term goals? 
  • What factors are keeping you from reaching your goals?

Keep it real!


  • Come up with a plan.
  • You have to decide how you can overcome any challenges to achieve your goals.
  • Align your actions to help you achieve your short term goals.  (You may need to change your routine or your social circle).
  • Get involved in activities that will help give you experience, knowledge, and connections. 
  • Make no excuses as to why you can’t but as to why you CAN achieve your goals.
  • Believe in yourself!


  • Assess your actions against your goals on a weekly basis (this will keep you focused).
  • Do not beat yourself up, but be realistic and hold yourself accountable for your actions.
  • Ask yourself are you doing what it takes to get you closer to your goals? If not regroup and go for it. 
  • If you need help ask.
